This is the beginning
The Kinder Way Berry Farm and Sanctuary is a 501C3 organization that is near and dear to our heart:
Erika and Mark Gutel have strived to show compassion to all animals and people whether happy and healthy, sickly, or exhausting- some animals require mobility aids and physical therapy throughout the day, some having to eat special made mashed foods or even bottle feeding. Located in West Pawlet, Vermont on a beautiful 125 acre organic farm with 7 acres of U-Pick blueberries, farm stand, flowers, fruit and fresh veggies.It's a beautiful property with endless opportunity for them and the animals to continue to grow and thrive together more than ever. As glorious and peaceful as this sounds, with so many changes and moves over the years to find their own forever sanctuary, these things come with a cost, realistically- a large one. Financially, mentally, physically and emotionally.
Even during the toughest of times they are still smiling and striving for compassion for all to include the several hundred animals they have taken in over the years. They have been featured on their local news many, many times, as well as featured on "Wizard of Paws" where mobility devices were built for some of their beautiful farm friends. Mark is well known for being "the Coffee Dude" or "Officer Kind" and Erika is ALL about her babies, whether human, animal or plant and can often be found running around the property looking a little frazzled.. we promise- she's not as crazy as she may appear. Haha. Previously to help offset their costs, they ran an amazing little cafe, with the absolute BEST oat milk maple latte's. 2020 had other plans as they did for many other small businesses..We decided it was time to come together to collaborate on some "merch" and it was displayed wherever their travels took them- the farmers market, a table in a barn or in their storefronts.
Mark and Erika aren't just the KINDest souls, they are my family, my friends, and the parents my own child dreams to have. (No- really, there are adoption papers drawn up on the back of a restaurant menu in crayon by her somewhere from when she was little!) Some of you may have met the "sassy redhead" during your travels, as she has spent several summers there as a helping hand, mini coffee barista, animal tour guide, professional pain in the booty and even a blueberry picker! Now she is aiding in their merch production!
Winter is coming and we know just how hard that can be, while most are cozy inside staring out at the snow or dreading the shoveling of a driveway, they are still out there with work to be done; animals still need tending, feeding, water, medicine, love and with this comes limited resources, as their primary income comes to a close for the season.
Over the years there have been several requests for shipping options but with the hustle and bustle of the farm life it's hard to sit down and get everything navigated, so we decided let's give them a feature here and MOVE THAT MERCH! The Chronic Lemonade family is so excited to expand this venture with them on our end and we hope you enjoy these products as well!
